Why On Course exists.
Dan Hall’s deep passion to help individuals maximize their contributions has been the cornerstone of his success in helping business leaders and is precisely why he decided to start On Course Solutions. Whether helping one discover inert talents, develop interpersonal skills, remove personal obstacles or just helping them develop a strategy to achieve their goals, his combination of training, experience and intuition has helped scores of organizations improve their businesses by improving their personnel.
We exist to maximize the human resource: We build people. Every business realizes at some point that their greatest resource is their people. Dan works with leaders to strengthen that resource through skill-based development to create a culture where people are more productive, motivated and valued.
Our Background
Framed at an early age.
Dan Hall began playing organized football in junior high in a suburb of Dallas, Tx. Having only played backyard ball until then, Dan had never experienced what a coach was able to do. But after only one year, he realized how much he had learned. Over the next few years, Dan came to value how these coaches knew how to get more out of him. This realization laid the foundation for a lifetime of investing in others success.
Facing challenges.
Facing the racial challenges endemic to his community, Dan helped develop several entities that sought to bridge the gap between the races. Since 1986 he has intentionally waded into this arena with confidence we can leave a better tomorrow for the next generation.
Business leaders saw Dan’s success in these difficult challenges and began contacting him to integrate his experience into their organizations. And while Dan can develop training around most HR issues facing an organization (customer service, coaching through evaluation, etc), his expertise has been Team Building, Communication and Conflict Resolution Skills (often used in helping organizations mitigate negative environments and relationships), Leadership Development and Race Relations. Having helped several organizations work through sexual harassment situations, Dan added Sexual Harassment training to his primary menu.
Dan’s ability to quickly assess human interaction and create clear strategic paths for improvement have contributed greatly to his success. With a unique combination of deep empathy and unapologetic directness, Dan helps owners, executives and leaders deal with difficult relational interactions with grace and clarity.
International experience.
Dan has helped development and execution of micro-industry initiatives and leadership development in the Ivory Coast, Rwanda, and the Philippines. He has also worked in leadership training in France, Switzerland, Spain, Turkey, Rwanda, Liberia, Britain, Israel, Guam and 25 states within the United States of America. He received an honorary doctorate from Covenant Seminary in recognition for his humanitarian work.
If you are looking to maximize your leaders, improve office interaction or strategically plan your own success, you will find Dan a strong partner to achieve these goals.
Community Involvement
Dan’s work in community development is extensive. After a rash of homicidal incidents in Jackson, MS, he developed the Jackson Police Department Chaplaincy to address the undercurrent challenges facing civil servants. In response to the acute racial problems in Mississippi, he helped found Mission Mississippi, a movement committed to improving race relations in Mississippi. Dan oversaw the formation and implementation of medical, food assistance and financial planning programs for the working poor as well as the socially neglected in Jackson, Louisville, KY and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He received the Business First 40 Under 40 award while living in Louisville, KY, recognizing effective young leaders. Dan also served on the Southern Indian Chamber of Commerce 20/20 Long Range Strategic Planning team.
